Morning Coffee

11 Sep

Here are the stories I put in my coffee this morning.

  • What Does ‘Intentional’ Mean in Dating?
  • I’m not supposed to let a girl feel insecure or weird on our first date? What world are we living in? Those are the only emotions either of us will be feeling for a big chunk of the initial time we spend together.

  • A Word About Word-For-Word
  • You just have to come to terms with the fact that God breathed his word in Greek and Hebrew, and he also confused languages at Babel. The result is that we are reading a Bible that was not written in the languages we speak. With that out of the way, “word-for-word” is a bad approach to translation.

  • Five Thoughts on “I Killed A Man”
  • The church world is really no stranger to this question–how can you tell if someone truly repents? For the most part, when the church has focused too much on this question, things tend to go awry…

  • Is God Too Good for Your Tastes?
  • A mark of a mature Christianity is that we root for each other. Let God be God and let him be good—on his own terms. He’s been good to you; let him be good to others, as good as he wants to be.
